Team allocation

With five players up for four spots each week, I need to know from you if you would like your child involved every weekend or four weekends out of five, assuming everyone is available to play on a given weekend.

Under the way we operated last year, one person will miss playing every fifth round because four players play a singles match each and then there are two doubles matches for those players.
For example:
Week 1. Players 1,2,3 and 4 play. Week 2. Players 5,4,3 and 2 play. And so on.

Another option is to have one player playing a singles match only and another player playing a doubles match only and the other three playing both singles and doubles.
For example:
Players 1, 2 & 3 play 1 singles and 1 doubles match.
Player 4 plays a singles match only.
Player 5 plays a doubles match only.
I would then rotate players through these scenarios each week.

Whatever scenario is chosen, I would keep a running total of matches played to ensure equality. The initial choosing of players to miss out or play reduced matches would be done at random.
Please e-mail me your feedback by Wednesday. Or text to 0419113277.
In a nutshell, your kid(s) will play the same number of matches over the length of the season regardless of the proposal chosen.
Last year’s system sees them having the odd weekend off but playing a singles and doubles match when they are involved.
This year’s proposal sees them playing every weekend but occasionally only playing one match, a singles or doubles, instead of both.
